Delhi Public School, SMVDU – Katra is situated in the campus of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Kakryal – Katra. The school is spread in 5 acres in the midst of sacred hills of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji, having shady trees, grassy lawns, flower beds, providing opportunity for the adjoining areas of Katra town. The school is functioning under the aegis of The Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi and affiliated to the CBSE vide code 730052.
SCHOOL BUILDING
Delhi Public School SMVDU - Katra has been housed in the newly constructed building situated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Kakryal Katra. The building of the school consist of 25 classrooms and 07 staff rooms which are fully equipped with good furniture for the students and the staff and all other required equipments like computers, Photostat machines, fax machines, water coolers, aqua guards etc. Sufficient number of toilets have also been got constructed for the male and female staff members separately. Specious office rooms also exist for the hon’ble Pro Vice Chairperson, hon’ble Director, Principal, Headmistress, Staff and coordinators for smooth functioning of the school.
CLASS ROOM INFRASTRUCTURE:-
1. a) All classrooms are airy and ventilated.
b) Every classroom is fitted with three/four electric fans, minimum 4 electric lights, Green Boards, and
Display Boards etc.
c) All classrooms are Pacca/Cemented which are also distempered, painted and white washed every
year as per the requirement.
2. There are separate toilets for boys and girls which are well maintained regularly.
3. Pure drinking water facility for the students and staff is available. Acqua guards also stand fitted.
4. For summer season –sufficient number of water coolers have been installed so that the students and
staff can get cold water.
5. Electric Back up has been provided in the
classrooms with one Gen Sets of 15KV capacity so
that all classrooms get uninterrupted electric power
supply for fans and lights etc., in case of
unforeseen electric cuts particularly during summer
season. One transformer has also been installed to
avoid fluctuations. Three phase electric connection
have got installed in the school through the Govt.
Electric Deptt. of Reasi Division.
6. Laboratories for the subjects Physics, Chemistry,
Biology and Computer Science labs fully equipped
with modern science equipments and science materials
for practical etc. exist in the school for the
students.
7. Library for the students of Senior Block, Middle Block and Primary Block exist in the school where they can read books of their choice, in order to raise their knowledge and entertainment etc. They can also develop reading habits in this way.
8. Smart Classes (Digital Classroom):- Smart classes have been functioning in the school for the better and easy understanding by the students in each subject.
9. Play Grounds: -
There are sufficient numbers of Play grounds/courts in the school where the students can play the games of their interest viz. cricket, football, volleyball, Basketball, badminton. Kho-Kho etc. Skating rink also exists in the school for budding skaters and others.
10. M I Room: -
The school has also M I Room where the students who need medical assistance can get the treatment on regular basis. MI Room has also been equipped with beds and requisite furniture and above all medicines which are supplied free of cost to the students & staff.
11. Fire fighting equipments
In order to safe guard the students, staff and the school property, sufficient number of fire fighting equipments have been got installed in the school.
12. SCHOOL TRANSPORT
(i) Transport facility is being providing to the students by the school but it is totally optional.
(ii) School has purchased 03 new buses for the students in the financial year 2013-14.
(iii) The school has also hired 04 buses for the students which are also equipped with all the requirements as per the guidelines of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
13. PARKING SPACE FOR SCHOOL BUSES & PRIVATE VECHILES
School has also sufficient parking space for the school buses as well as private vehicles and as such proper and smooth dispersal of the students takes place daily.
14. DEPLOYMENT OF SECURITY STAFF
Security Staff equipped with requisite instruments has been deployed in the school for the proper safety and security of the students including security guard and security Supervisors.
